LONG TERM DISABILITY BENEFITS POLICY

Guidelines

  • All eligible Management employees are enrolled in our Canada Life benefits plan following the successful completion of the probationary period
  • The premium amount for Long Term Disability is the responsibility of our employees and their share of the premium will be deducted accordingly from regular pay statements.  Long Term Disability is a mandatory benefit for all employees while included in the plan package. The benefit plan is subject to change based on current business needs and any changes will be communicated to employees
  • Premiums for all other benefits will be paid by The West Group or may be a shared cost with the employee
  • In the event that it is necessary for you to initiate a Long Term Disability claim, The West Egg Group will continue coverage on all your other benefits prior to disability for a period of 1 year, we will pay for all employees that fall into this category starting at your first day off due to illness
  • Employees who go on maternity or paternity leave will be entitled to benefits as determined by the Employment Standards Act in effect at the time of your leave. You will be responsible for paying the premium while you are disabled
