HEALTH & SAFETY POLICY

1.1 ALWAYS SAFE
Safety is an integral part of our company. Everyone is entitled to a safe, healthy workplace. We encourage open communication on health and safety issues. It is part of our operations and culture, and the goals to protect team members, property, the environment, and the public. We will take every precaution reasonable in the circumstances to protect the health and safety of employees in the workplace. We are committed to developing and putting in place appropriate work practices, tools, equipment and training so that each one of us has the ability to identify hazards and deal with them effectively. We will provide a clear framework for managing health and safety within our organization. The West Egg Group will make every reasonable effort to provide suitable return to work opportunities for every team member who is unable to perform his or her regular duties following a work-related injury or illness. This policy extends to our virtual workplace.

1.2 SHARED
Each of us has a personal responsibility for health and safety, and a role in creating and maintaining an injury-free workplace. The managers, coordinators, and supervisors are responsible for identifying safety needs and hazards, and providing and implementing controls. They must then communicate, train, and ensure compliance with legislation, this policy, the health and safety program and safe work practices. As safety leaders and role models, owners, managers and supervisors must lead by example. Their roles are supported by input from all team members. All team members are responsible to maintain a high level of safety awareness at work, participate in the safety program and training, comply with all applicable safety rules, regulations and work instructions, wear and use personal protective equipment, promptly report all injuries, illness, accidents, safety incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions to a supervisor. Employees who voice a concern will not be subject to reprisal or retaliation. All employees are expected to adhere to this policy as a condition of their employment.

1.3 ACCOUNTABILITY
Everyone has accountability and responsibility for the safety consequences of what he or she does or fails to do based on their level of authority and ability. This includes the employer, team members, joint health and safety committee members, visitors, contractors, suppliers and their representatives. This is the internal responsibility system (IRS).
